About Ideas Lab<\/h1>\n

Launched in 2014, the Ideas Labs are organised with an overall theme in mind but in a way designed to allow ample space for reflection on a wide variety of policy areas. Ideas Lab is the most high-profile annual event on policies of the European Union.<\/p>\n

The aim of Ideas Lab is to provide a high-level intellectual forum for exchanges concerning the wide range of current and pressing issues faced by the EU. The discussions are open, insightful and impactful, with the active involvement of policymakers, researchers and representatives from industries and the civil society.<\/p>\n

CEPS Ideas Lab 2025<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

CEPS hosted the 12th edition<\/a> of its flagship event, Ideas Lab, on 3-4 March 2025 at the Square, Brussels. Against the backdrop of elections, geopolitical tensions, and global shifts, this year\u2019s event explored the \u2018new normal\u2019 shaping the world order.<\/p>\n

As the leading annual forum on EU policies, Ideas Lab fostered open, insightful discussions on key issues, including digital sovereignty, the energy transition, sustainable trade, and AI-driven transformations in the workforce. With new leadership and agendas emerging globally, the event underscored the EU\u2019s need to navigate uncertainty while addressing disinformation, populism, and anti-European sentiment.<\/p>\n

Bringing together top policymakers, researchers, and innovators, the two-day event featured thought-provoking sessions and an immersive evening reception at Plein Publiek.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

New Ideas<\/h4>\n

For the 2025 edition, CEPS presented 14 new ideas<\/a> \u2013 twice as many as last year\u2019s edition – covering topics such as AI, innovation, digitalisation, energy, the environment, rule of law, and the economy.<\/p>\n

In 2024, we brought you a rejuvenated and reimagined 11th<\/sup> edition of our flagship event, Ideas Lab<\/a>, that took place on 4 and 5 March 2024 at the Square, Brussels.<\/p>\n

More than a decade on from its first edition, Ideas Lab continues to stand out as the foremost annual gathering on EU policies. Designed as a high-profile intellectual forum, the event serves as a dynamic platform for the exchange of ideas on a myriad of current and pressing issues facing the EU. The discussions, marked by openness, insightfulness, and impact, actively engage policymakers, researchers, and representatives from across industry and civil society. This year, CEPS also hosted a dynamic panel discussion, at Bozar.<\/p>\n

With 24 immersive sessions to choose from, this year\u2019s Ideas Lab featured a twist to our regular format \u2013 eight of these sessions unveiled groundbreaking ideas for the new European Commission and European Parliament to consider when they begin their new mandates.<\/p>\n
