Stefano Quintarelli is Senior Advisor in the Global Governance, Regulation, Innovation and Digital Economy (GRID) unit at CEPS.

Stefano is a computer scientist, serial entrepreneur and former professor of information systems, network services and security. He is also founder of I.NET, the first Italian ISP business and first Italian internet unicorn. He has been Member of Parliament in the XVII legislature and member of the High Level Expert Group on Artificial Intelligence of the European Commission, Chairman of the Steering Committee of the Italian Digital Agency, Chairman of the Advisory Group on Advanced Technologies for the UN (CEFACT). He is a member of the Leadership Council of the Sustainable Development Solutions Network (UNSDSN).

He was founder of the Parliamentary Intergroup for Technological Innovation, author of the reform of the Digital Administration Code and creator of the Public Digital Identity System (SPID).

He also sits in the Scientific Committee of Bollati and Boringhieri for which he published “Intangible Capitalism” (Canova Prize for economic dissemination), “Artificial Intelligence” and “The Internet torn to pieces”.

He is also a General Partner of the Rialto 1 EuVECA B2B VC Fund.
