In-person event
The AI Act is nearing its finish line and the EU Ethics Guidelines for Trustworthy AI have been out for over four years. It’s time to take stock of the EU’s approach to trustworthy AI, as the first results are becoming visible in EU policy. For example, funding programs start to require trustworthy AI as a condition for applicants. And internationally, from the OECD to the G7 and the Global Partnership on AI, the EU approach has made its way to a much broader diffusion. What is lacking is a more concrete discussion as to what the implementation of trustworthy AI will look like in different domains.
The event, organised in the context of the three-year FlexiGroBots project, draws attention to the development of standards that will accompany the implementation of the AI Act. The agricultural case offers rich grounds for discussion and reflects the breadth of applications that should be addressed in guidelines, legislation, and standards for trustworthy AI.
What does the implementation of trustworthy AI look like in practice? What are good practices and tools to ensure proper implementation of trustworthy AI? How can these be transformed into standardised procedures? Which challenges can emerge in applying standards to a broad range of use cases, in particular in agriculture?
