The Policy Meeting will bring together EU and international policy-makers, academics, practitioners and civil society organisations to explore the central challenges to principles of privacy and data protection posed by the proliferation of surveillance practices in the EU. The meeting is co-organised by the Centre for European Policy Studies, together with the European Parliament's Privacy Platform and the SAPIENT project (Supporting Fundamental Rights, Privacy and Ethics in Surveillance Technologies), a research project funded under the Security Theme of the European Commission’s Seventh Framework Research Programme.
