The European Commission has recently unveiled legislative proposals for the bloc's post-2013 Common Agricultural Policy, which are now being reviewed and discussed by the European Parliament and national governments. While the proposals will play a significant role in shaping the future direction of European farming, they will also affect the achievement of public policy objectives at both the domestic and international level: these include environmental protection, trade policy and the impact on developing countries. This event, jointly organised by CEPS and the International Centre for Trade and Sustainable Development (ICTSD), will be an opportunity for participants from a range of backgrounds to share their views, and discuss how various policy options could affect the achievement of common goals in this area.
